While our Summer Dove was busy melting away, we were baking up a storm! 12 delicious days filled with Prompts ranging from lightly spiced to downright burnt.This event is open to everyone with a liking for all things Dead Dove and Call of Duty, no sign-ups needed!There are four Prompts per day, so Participants are free to pick and choose the flavours to their liking!And for those of you with a sweet tooth, we've prepared some additional treats that you can sprinkle on top of the existing Prompts!
The event will be held on both twitter and bsky from the 1st to the 12th of December. There will also be a AO3 collection with the option to post anonymously that will remain open until January 31st.Use the #12DoDCoD to tag your works so everyone can enjoy your creations!Our treats are spiked with rum, so you have to be over 18 years old to participate in this event!Be sure to tag any allergens and let people know what they're getting into before they have a taste of your works ★Any CoD ships are welcome.Creations can be in the form of art, fics, threads, doodles, drabbles and anything in between! All we ask is that they're made with love and human hands!No use of AI Permitted!We will not tolerate any kind of harassment of real people over fictional works. That also includes the participants of the event.
What's a Prompt Event?:
It's a Creative Event that centres around predetermined Daily Prompts that aim to inspire the creation of other fanwork.Participants will receive the Prompts beforehand, giving them the option to either prepare works in advance or create something on the day of the Prompt.What's Dead Dove?:
Dead Dove: Do Not Eat is a warning or tag that is used and interpreted in multiple different ways in different areas of fandom.The tag was initially proposed as a way to indicate that a fanwork depicts "tropes that might be viewed as problematic" without necessarily any subversion or condemnation of those tropes.One common usage is to simply indicate that "this fic is clearly labelled and fully warned for, so if you open it, you know what you are getting." More recently, it has also become common to treat "Dead Dove: Do Not Eat" as a content warning in and of itself, indicating that a fanwork contains particularly violent or dark tropes or concepts.How will posting work?:
Starting December 1st, the Dovecember Mods will make daily Social Media posts. We will use these to collect the Community's submissions.Participants can post their works as they normally would, but keep in mind to use #12DoDCoD to tag your works! The Mods will be scouring the tag to collect them on the Event Page!For those of you who'd rather partake anonymously, head on over to the 12DoD AO3 Collection to submit your works there. Participants can spice up the daily prompts with anything they want, as long as it doesn't involve a tag from another day. Just be sure to tag appropriately!What are additional prompts?:
Additional prompts can be added to any day to spice things up or change the theme. You can use them as often as you want, even across multiple days.Can I submit more than one work per prompt?:
You can submit as many works as you want. We only ask everyone to post within reason and not spam the tag.Does it have to be Dead Dove?:
This is a Dead Dove Event, so we require that at least some aspect of your work includes dead dove / dark / taboo themes. That doesn't mean you can't have some fluff on the side to lighten things up, though!What Pairings can I create for?:
You can create for any pairing inside the CoD universe, be that the original Modern Warfare, the 2019 reboot, Ghosts, whatever tickles your fancy!
